About Corns
Corns and calluses are hard or thick areas of skin that can be painful. They are typically not serious.
They develop as a result of pressure from bones against the skin and are most common on the tops and sides of the toes and on the balls of the feet. Common causes of corns include wearing uncomfortable shoes and having arthritis.
Corns are smaller and deeper than calluses, often characterised by a central, hardened core surrounded by swollen skin. They can be painful when pressure is applied.
Our podiatrist can provide advice on treatment options for your corns.
